Thoughts On A Sunday

Here it is the Sunday after Thanksgiving and I hope all of you had a great holiday weekend.
Mom and I enjoyed a good meal at Cracker Barrel Thursday.  No cooking & no cleaning this year!  Worked for us!  I did buy a pecan pie and have been eating a piece now and then!
The kids went to the mountains and had a great time.  Here are some great photos they shared!
Diggin in the dirt
Excitement at a waterfall!
I love this photo!  She is so cute!
Shopping for Thanksgiving dinner!
Family photo!!

I am getting better but I am still having this pesky cough.  It woke me up last night and took awhile to get back to sleep.  It has made today a long one.  I have worked on the Christmas decorations today...
A little sneak peek at one of the cubbies!  I have lots more tweaking to do before I share it all with you.  I'm hoping to go simpler this year.  It is honestly getting harder and harder to get all the bins out, put up the decorations and then after Christmas take it all down.  I will continue to decorate, but maybe less will be more for me.
Of course my 'less' is still a lot to some people!

I want to try to really relax and enjoy this Christmas season with an emphasis on Faith, Family and Friends.  I have a few get together's and some church activities already on the calendar.  I've decided to keep gift giving simple this year.  Most of the purchases have been made.  I'm hoping to get my health back up to normal and to see Mom get better also.  Lots of things to look forward to and memories to look back on this year.
I hope to post more on my blog but sometimes it seems so hard, but I'll try.  I read your posts every day and enjoy my visits with you.  The friendships I've made through blogging are really precious to me.  Let the season begin!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

Hi, Linda. I'm just now getting back to things, after being away for a while. I didn't realize that your back was still bothering you, or that you have been sick. I really hope that you continue to feel better, and that you will soon be back to your normal self.

My wish for you is to get your health back! There is nothing worse than not feeling well.
Love your Christmas cubbie...and the Joy plate. I am sorry I didn't buy them when I had the chance.
Great photos of the kids. I can't believe how they have grown.
Have a great week.

Hi Linda ~ I'm glad you and your mother had a good Thanksgiving meal at Cracker Barrel. They do have good food! Your cubbies look so cute with the Christmas decorations. I haven't even gotten my Christmas stuff out of storage yet. I'm not even in the mood. And the older I get, the less I decorate for holidays.

Take things slow and careful Linda. You did a lot with your decorating. I am not putting out my decorations this years, just a poinsettia and DGS and DS are putting up a Dr. Who tree and a wreath on the door. Thats my plan anyway, who knows what is really going to happen.

I have to tell you that your two grandchildren are so cute - they should be in pictures. They are just adorable.

Looks like fun in the woods too.

I think I got the same cold and cough you have - I think everyone in GA has it -

Take care of yourself.

I hope you get rid of that darn bug. Crazy weather, I think, causes crazy bugs! I bet the turkey dinner was wonderful. I love Cracker Barrel. Rosemary looks so cute in that outfit.

I think we are all posting a little less often but that works out okay. I love these family photos. I didn't get to see my kids this year but I got photos. I'm going to try to put out less this holiday and hopefully donate a few things too. Sweet hugs Sis!

Glad you had a nice dinner with no cooking involved, and looks like your family enjoyed a peaceful mountain stay. I love your cubbies and the cute vintage ceramics. I have a collection of them, but won't be putting them out this year. I'm not doing much decorating since we'll be away at Christmas. We are also trying to keep thongs simple this year. My tablecloths will be out though, lol.

Linda, I Hope you get rid of your cough soon, they do like to hang on.

Those grandbabies are so cute! I love the photo of Rosemary in the cute little house! Adorable! Looks like they had fun. I am sorry you still have a cough. I have had them last for weeks before and it is so annoying. Hopefully it's on the way out though! Prayers for you and your mom. The cubby looks great. I really enjoyed scaling back this year. I missed seeing all my stuff but it will be there next year. Have a blessed and healthy week my friend!

Hugs, Vicky

Love the pics of the Grands - they are growing up so fast.
Sorry you are still having problems with your back. I have not decorated any yet, and not sure when or just how much I will do this year. I also remember what I take out, has to be packed away again, so that slows me down.

I can relate with taking stuff out and putting it away.

Maybe we should start putting our decorations on panels like the menu boards at McDonald's, so we just have to push a switch and flip them around.

Oh my GOODNESS, Linda. The grands are TOTALLY ADORABLE. Oh, how they tug at my heart. I could have written your exact post! I feel totally the same about simplifying a bit (but our simplifying is quite different. ha haha) Doing much less present-buying. TRYING to organize the Christmas section of the attic. ha haha Take care and have a wonderful week. Susan

I'd say no cooking and cleaning up afterward sounds perfect to me. Your grand kids are getting so big! Oh my goodness! Looks like they had loads of fun on their trip. Hugs to you Linda and take care of yourself,

I have not yet begun to drag out the Christmas stuff. I hope to get most of it done by next weekend, but I never seem to reach the goals I set lately. I wander off to do something more interesting. I hope that pesky cough is gone soon. The grands look so cute in the pics.

Hi Linda. I am sorry about your cough. I have a touch of that going on too! I am rethinking my Christmas decorating too. I am planning on going through my things and if I don't absolutely love it, then it is going to one of the booths. I hope you and your mom are well soon!

Hugs,
Dianne

The Thanksgiving pictures of the kids are absolutely adorable; what a fun adventure for all of them. Good to hear you and your mom took it easy and left the cooking to the professionals. Feel better soon, Linda.

Oh, sweet Linda! I'm so sorry you're still not up to par! Take care of yourself. Resting and taking care is the best. Those grandbabies are just the cutest thing. You are going to have to put a rock on Tiger's head! He's getting so tall! :) Little Rosemary is so precious! She looks like she has the cutest personality! Of course I love seeing your cubbies! Love my little angel you sent me! I'll always cherish it.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

You have a beautiful family, Linda.

I know what you mean about getting out and putting away all the Christmas decorations. We didn't do as much this year as we usually do. I'm hoping to improve my storage after Christmas to make it easier to get to things.

Merry Christmas :)
