Still Thrifting?? YES!!

I haven't shared a thrifty finds post in a very long time.  I am still visiting my favorite thrift stores, but not as frequently and I'm buying much much less.  One reason is that I'm downsizing my collections so buying less and also trying to only buy things I need or really love!
This sweet little transferware dish falls into the LOVE category!  Its a tiny little thing and it was only .50!!  Unmarked but maybe a nut dish?
I'll drop rings or earrings in it on my dresser.
Also in the love category, is this shelf sitter.  This little girl's face is priceless and for .25 she had to come to my house for Christmas!
This haul includes a few loves, some useful items and yes something for one of my collections!
The white planter was a bargain so joined the others I recently shared with you here
Sometimes pretty things just need to be saved.  This pottery leaf was too nice to leave at the thrift shop and those cookie cutters will be great for crafting.  Under $1 for both...score.
I love the soup bowls with the little handles.  I recently bought one at Big Lots for $4 but got both of these for $1 total..score.  I love Tervis Tumblers and when I find them in good shape and cheap I buy.  The glass spoon and the ceramic shoe...ok so these might have been impulse buys but they were cheap!
I haven't bought milk glass in ages but these pieces were too pretty and such a good bargain.  The plates (there are two of them) match my collection in the Harvest pattern.  The sweet little bowl with the green insides just called to me!  All three for $2...
I am always looking for things for the Grands.  Tiger is into Super Hero's so these 4 were $1 total.  I also always buy books and at .50 each a great bargain.  The picnic basket shape sorter was $1.

So YES I am still thrifting!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

You gravitate toward some of the same things I do.

Lots of good finds. I would have fought you for the wood handled cookie cutters!!! I think the milk glass plate pattern is Harvest. I'm putting out several snack sets in that pattern today!
You did good!!!

Linda,

Just dropping in to say THANK YOU for the lovely comment on LAWN TEA! bj is such a sweet person, and insisted on inviting her friends to come visit us in Towandaland.

I, too, love the little tingle of AHA when you see that perfect find at Goodwill or any thrift or yard sale. Alas, I'm WAY in the mind of getting-rid-of vs. down-sizing, I think, for there's just so much STUFF we've accumulated and loved over the years.

My favorite of yours is the little mayonnaise spoon---mine is a little curved-handle one in its little bowl, like a tee-ninecy punch ladle. Mammaw always said you could NOT put your silver spoon in mayo. I can just see all those little glass mayo sets of the past, usually set beside a big cut-glass plate of tomato aspic, for bridge parties and luncheons.

Thank you for visiting LAWN TEA!! I hope you'll come by often.

rachel, off to ogle your PYREX!!! (and headed upstairs to get out those ten or so small rectangular "fridge dishes" I've got stashed, to go in my new fridge)

Great finds!!! I'm like you, I've started being picky on my hunts because I already have enough stuff! I find that I still have fun even if I don't buy anything. Thanks for visiting me today. I hope you have a great afternoon :-)

There are so many fun, pretty, useful things out there to buy, but not much I really need so I focus on the "do I love it"?

I remember having that little Tupperware toy for my kids.

Hey, when it calls your name, you must answer! Love the little red transferware piece and the shelf sitter (and I don't usually gravitate to the latter type of item, but she's definitely a cutie). Good going!

Great haul here, my dear. Love the cookie cutters and the transferware bowl...what could be better --to put jelly/butter in for the holidays. Great post, and I'm like you, I have to really like it, or think I can sell it quickly. Thanks, Sandi

Sweet finds for super prices. To help with the downsizing I sometimes buy thrifty seasonal decor, use it, and donate it back rather than put it away. :) Like your new white pottery piece.

Great finds! Love that little shelf sitter - too cute. I would be picking up toys and books for grandchildren (if I had them) at the thrift store, too. Retail prices on toys and books are crazy.

Hi Linda! Good stuff! You did well and that tiny little transferware bowl is darling. Could it be a doll's dish? Yes, I'm always on the lookout for little books for my grandkids.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Oh, gee, your grand finds have me wanting to go to a thrift store. It's a good thing they're all closed now. I think I will go to an estate sale in town tomorrow. You never know, right?

Linda, what a sweet little piece of transferware! I have a few pieces of milk glass in that pattern that I bought from my sister years ago. Tiger will love his new toys! I pick up things for my grands from time to time. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Very restrained purchases, Linda :) Love your shelf sitter to death and the leaf-shaped pottery dish. Fall's my favorite and I do enjoy pottery, so that dish would have been hard for me to pass up, too. Great finds for Tiger--he's going to have a ball.

I used to buy more too, but I NEED to downsize. You did very well!
