Decorating Chaos!

I hope all of you had a good Thanksgiving!  Mine was great and the meal was yummy!  It was fun to cook for a group once again!
Now on to the decorating!
First you have to make a mess!
Bringing out all the totes with the decorations!
Charlie has already parked himself under the tree!
Now to decorate it!
I've found a few Christmas items while out thrifting the last month or so!
Nothing was expensive and all will be used somehow!
I really love these napkins and can't wait to set a fun table using them!
Looks like someone's Elf on a Shelf got lost but I'll use him for decorating...
not 'spying' on me or Tiger!
These adorable guys were in a falling apart centerpiece and for $5 I grabbed it.  Love the birds and I got some great pics and pinecones also.  Did I take a before photo?  no, I just tore it apart!
Tiger started decorating his tree last night and putting out the Creche.  I love how excited he is this year for all that Christmas is!

I can't wait to get some decorations on my tree and in my cubbies!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

Just clearing up after family Thanksgiving visitors here, so I'm not quite ready to pull out those Christmas bins. Coming soon, though, I'm sure. xo Nellie

I totally agree! Gotta make a mess to make some pretty! Love your little treasures and I'm loving my tiny little sweet angel you sent me! Can't wait to see everything decorated in your new place.

Just a thought: those little birds would look cute in a shadow box type setting. It already kind of looks like they are. I'm still not decorating yet. I've done one little thing!

I like going through my Christmas bins to see what's in there. It's always a surprise! lol I hate the mess so I like to get things out and the bins put away. I'll buy a few more things at the thrift stores, too. I love those cute birds you found...they were worth taking it apart! Have fun, Sis! Hugs!

I need to wait one more week before all the bins come out of the attic. We had a cat who loved to sleep in the lower branches of the tree. Never bothered anything- just slept. Precious pic of Tiger and his creche. Do you put Baby Jesus in now or wait until Christmas Eve?

This is what I should have been doing today! Thanks for the inspiration Linda, everything is looking festive right out of the box.

I've been digging out my Christmas this weekend too. The tree is up and the mantle done. I can't wait to see your home all ready for Christmas. Tiger looks sweet in his little hat.

Love those little white fuzzy birds.
First I have seen. Anxious to see how you use them. Time for me to drag stuff out too but hate to add to the mess I already have from a major bath remodel. Christmas will have to simple again this year, but even that is enjoyable.
Blessings,

I can't wait to see it all finished! We don't decorate...not with 13 cats.

You do have to make a mess before you can decorate don't you? That is so cute to see Tiger there.

I spy a few Hallmark ornaments there! I am planning to go through my tons of them and sell some as I do not really need so much!

We are still in the chaos stage! MIL & I got the mantel done today and will finish up all of the rest of the flat surfaces tomorrow. Mr. B decorated the tree while we were at church so it's feeling quite festive here :-)

Hi Linda....I can definitely identify with the mess. It's still a mess around here. ha haha

Getting stuff done though, like you! Love your tree! Is it pink or white decorated with pink? Susan

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house and mine. I get overwhelmed every year with all my stuff! I went through everything as I took it out this year and am getting rid of a large box of stuff. I still have way too much, but I just can't bear to part with the majority of it. Looking forward to seeing yours done...especially the cubbies! Have a blessed Sunday.

Hugs, Vicky

You got that right Linda, the mess before the festive decorations are in place. I gave some away last year, and will be purging and sending more to the thrift this year....because its so hard not to buy more of it, lol.

I'm behind, no totes out yet, just a Christmas tablecloth on my dining table. I start tomorrow. :)

I got started today too. My tree is up! I've never gotten my tree up this early. Yipee!
Have fun decorating. Tiger is going to make Christmas extra special this year. ;-)

It's always a mess for a few days until everything gets into place - but so worth it when everything is looking nice!!

How funny that you found the Elf thrifting! I would have grabbed him too, and I'd let him spy on my boys... even though they're 30:@) Have fun decorating Linda!

I love that, "first you have to make a mess". My problem is that the mess starts on the dining room table and it is still there. I have to make sure I finish each day's decorating by dinner time.

How fun to have Tiger help you.

With 3 very active kittens--it'll be slim decorating this year. I hope by next year they will be content to just sit under the tree. Love your little touches; you do it well my friend, XOXO

Can't wait to see my little ones. I know their eye are all aglow already.

Glad you had a yummy dinner. Don't you just love how cats seem to park themselves on the task at hand. I think they just know that they are the bosses! Looking good Linda and I love all your thrift finds!

Hi Linda, I love all of your Christmas decorations you have shown off! Your tree is going to be beautiful. My house is still in the chaos stage and looks like a bomb went off. I hope you have a nice day and enjoy all your Christmas decorating.

We're just getting started here too. It's so fun to get everything out again, but yes it's a bit of a mess right now. The 4 cats are big helpers. lol. Love all your thrifted finds, especially those sweet birds.

Tiger's at the great age where he's really starting to "get" things and can do so much more for himself. This ought to be a fun Christmas for y'all. Can't wait to see the finished decor pics. We won't be decking the halls this year, so I'm living vicariously through other folks' blogs. I've torn more than a few centerpieces and such apart to create smaller, cuter bits.

Tomorrow I'll put up the tree.

What a cheerful post! I love it, and I bet your home will be beautiful. Best wishes for a happy holiday season.

Cathy @ My 1929 Charmer said...

I so totally agree! There is Christmas mixed with some fall stuff all over the charmer. OMG I feel so stressed about it. In a small home it doesn't take much for it to become chaos quickly! Thanks for letting me know my shop links weren't working!

I couldn't wait to see your decorations Linda!! that Elf on a Shelf is funny! Think the adults have as much fun hiding him as the kids looking for him!!
Merry Christmas!!

Isn't it wonderful to have children around to see Christmas through their eyes? Just think, next year you'll have 2 little ones!

Melanie said...

I just started decorating too, Linda and my house looked like yours with boxes and stuff everywhere, too! It's all finally coming together. Just when we get used to all this Christmas decor and get settled in, it'll be time to take it all down and pack it away again! That's the part I really dread.

Maria Elena said...

Oh, yes, this is what my house looks like now, just piles of Christmas decor everywhere. LOL Getting there slowly but surely. :) Have a great weekend! Maria

I've been enjoying slowly decorating this year! I hope you are able to show us some of your decorations when finished! Have a super weekend! Blessings, Cindy

I'm going to live vicariously through everyone else this year, as I'm not doing much decorating for the holidays. You're right about the 'mess', but that's half the fun :).

I loved seeing this, Linda! I cannot believe how much Tiger has grown. What a cutie pie he is. :-)

And I love your new (to me) header and all of the things you have found. I agree... cute, CUTE napkins and birds. Those are a good price because I saw similar birds that a single was priced at more than what you got the trio for, which is great!

Thank you for your cyber hug. I hate that you had this, too, and am glad it was a mild case. I wish I had thought to get the shot! I lost two whole months of my life, and I am still recovering. But I am grateful to be better.

Sending you Christmas hugs...

xo,

Sheila :-)

Looks like you are on your way! My house looks the same, needles all over the place!
Look how big Tiger is getting! They grow up so fast!
