Thrifty Things Friday #146

Diann and I are so glad you could join us this week!

Yesterday I checked out my local thrift shops!
I have been looking for a china hutch or some sort of cabinet to put in the 'dining' area of my duplex.  I saw this!
Photo taken with my cell phone so not a great pic!
The shelves are great, the large 'door' drops down and becomes a little desk and it has two drawers and a closed cabinet.  For $80 I was really thinking this would be great!
Still I wanted to sleep on it.
Today I decided it would be perfect storage and asked my son in law Blake if he could meet me there to pick it up in his truck!
Which is where it still is.  He took this photo but the wood is really darker then this photo.
It is one heavy piece of furniture so he is trying to find someone to help him unload it.

Still I'm so excited to get this and then clean it up and load it up!
What is your latest thrifty find??

Join Diann and I HERE!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

Linda I think it is so great for your home! Just what you need. It is so funny as I am trying to rid my home of stuff. You would not believe how empty it is getting.

Hi Linda! Yay! I love your new shelves. You'll be able to poke stuff all over them and I can't wait to see what you do!
Hopefully you won't have to wait too long to get them in your home.

That will be very useful, and I like that there is a desk component to it.

Congratulations Linda!! Will you paint it or leave it as wood? If it's that heavy, sounds like oak?? I can't wait to see it fixed up!

I used to have a similar piece in my living room and got rid of it a few years ago - gave it away for free! It was solid teak. Just took up too much room in my small house. Where are you going to put this? Can't wait to see how you decorate it.

These will be perfect to all lots of your collections and treasures. It's fun to find a big bargain like that! I got a few things at the White Elephant sale last weekend but I'm still not thrifting yet. Taking a little break. Sweet hugs, Diane

Love it! We are thinking about moving to a larger booth at the KNitting Mill and I would love to have a great shelf unit like that! It is perfect!!!! So glad you found it and I love the fold down desk! We are home from school tomorrow and I am so glad. Planning to sleep late, because I had to get up at 5:30 on Saturday to go to Rockwood for an estate sale.
