Fiesta Challenge

I love to tablescape and sometimes I like to set 'challenges' for myself just to make it a little more interesting.  This year for Cinco De Mayo I challenged myself to only use Fiesta ware dishes and new decorations.   All my Fiesta is thrifted and so not much matches, but that's the fun of it!
I used another 60's vintage Mexican serape my Mom used as a tablecloth, this one is in muted colors so it went well with the variety of Fiesta ware I have.
Each place setting started with a woven charger, a yellow napkin with a bronze napkin ring and the bronze handled flatware
Then I mixed each place setting using a dinner plate, salad plate, bread plate and small bowl in various colors
I have some older pieces and lots more from the 70's!  The pink and blue especially!
I used two different glasses from thrift shops.  This wine glass and a blue water glass! I mixed it up again as I didn't have 4 of the same glass.
Here is the blue glass
We have had so much rain I'm afraid my photos are fairly dark.  Still I wanted to share this with you this week!
The centerpiece was a pink platter, yellow bowl and blue planter with a faux plant!  I found this funny little guy with his sombrero at the thrift and so he joined the table this year!
I also had a small Fiesta pitcher on the table for water
It was a fun challenge!  Thanks for joining me!

I'm partying this week!

A Pinteresting Party

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

Great job. The mixing of the colors is one of the things I love about Fiesta.

I love your table scapes, Linda, you do so much more than I would have. I'd be putting down a plate, glass and some silverware and call it a day. Guess that is "why" I haven't done a table scape. LOL

Nice job and very festive.

Great idea. I don't have any vintage Fiesta. Just a new red set from my kids.

I love your festive table Linda! Great colors and the tablecloth is very pretty! I just said to myself last Sunday that I need to get a Cinco de Mayo tablecloth for next year:@)

You are so right, Linda! The fun of Fiesta is mixing all of the colors together. I cannot believe that you found all of these "thrifting"! Love your mother's tablecloth - what a great job you did in adding the tableware to it!

LInda, your serape sets the stage for a colorful festive table. I find part of the joy of old Fiesta ware is the mix of the bright colors. This is a great table!

I really love your table. I really love it better than match, match. I wish I were so creative to do that. Thanks for sharing all your lovely thrifted items. Just shows that we don't need to shop at the mall and dept. stores. Hugs, Ginger

Muy bien hecho, Linda! Me gusta mucho. Todo es bonito!

Fiesta Ware makes a Mexican-style table look so fun and authentic! The beauty of it truly is that it's made to be mixed and matched at will.

Great job!!!

How lucky are you to have been able to thrift all your Fiesta? These are the dishes that I have too but unfortunately I paid retail for mine!

I just finished checking out all of the tables on Cuisine Kathleen's "Let's Dish" for last week and I now know we are psychically linked! (Or we both have great taste....) Needless to say, I love the Cinco de Mayo Fiestaware table. I promise I didn't copy it....but all I can say, it is so neat that anyone would want to. You are so very talented.
