It has been a really rough few days!
If you missed my last post, I shared that our sweet cat Mr. Toes was shot with a pellet gun by someone. We thought he was doing okay and didn't have any internal injuries. Monday he went back to the Vet and they said he was running a fever. They kept him and gave him iv fluids and pain meds. Today they were able to give him an ultrasound and thought there was some damage so called us and discussed surgery. We agreed and they went in. They found the pellet had pierced the small intestine in two places, had bruised his stomach and he had peritonitis. They removed the damaged intestine and cleaned out the infection. He will be in the clinic for several more days while they give him antibiotics and continue to monitor his condition.
Mr Toes is such a sweet cat and has a wonderful fun personality.
We are praying for the best!
He is not out of the woods yet, but he is young and strong and we believe he has a strong will to survive! After all he made it home after being shot.
So Mr ALC, Charlie Kitty and myself all thank you for your prayers and good healing thoughts.
It's amazing how much we love our furry babies!
Our home feels different without him here.
I'll try to get back to my regular blogging soon, my head and heart have not been up to it. Those who I'm mailing things to, I promise I'll get them out soon.

Oh my gosh, this just makes me sick. People are evil. I'm so upset. I will certainly pray for Mr. Toes. Pooh will pray too. Please keep us posted.

Linda, I am so sorry about Mr. Toes...it amazes me how cruel people can be, especially to defenseless animals. Hope he makes a full recovery.

Oh my goodness, Linda, you know I am going to pray and send out good thoughts for your Mr. Toes. I hope that they were able to do all that needs to be done and now he can heal. The poor little thing. Damn those people who do awful things to animals. What is wrong with them? Sending hugs, Deb.
Oh Linda, this has turned into a nightmare. I'd report it to local authorities. This was an act of animal cruelty. They need to at least pay your vet bills. Tiger is growing in leaps and bounds. xo

I have two of my own and cannot imagine the stress and pain you are going through. So sorry to hear that happened to him. People like that make me sick and I can only hope that karma will catch up that asshole soon. I'll keep him in my thoughts. Please keep us updated!

Poor baby! In your last post I thought for sure he was on his way to recovery, I hope he is now Linda. I get so angry thinking about this, it just makes no sense.
Awwwww, Linda. That's NOT GOOD. I'm so sorry to hear about Mr. Toes. I hope he can recover. But oh, God, I think of the MONEY for the vet. That's what kills me every time I have to bring Honey Cat. (Just did last week, too. Bladder infection.)

Oh Linda, I've been out of touch and didn't know about Mr. Toes. That is just horrible, who would do such a thing to a poor little kitty? I hope he will be better soon, like you said he's a fighter, thank Goodness for that!

Oh my goodness Linda I am so sorry about Mr. Toes. I hope that the vet is giving you a good deal. Surgery and all that must be very expensive. I sure hope he pulls through it. That is a lot for any little kitten to handle. I still don't understand how anyone can hurt a cat, dog, or child. I'll be saying a little prayer for him. Tiger is adorable as usual.

Oh no! I am just now seeing this! Poor Mr. Toes! What a beautiful little tuxedo kitty! How horrible for someone to do that to a pet. It makes me sad for people that they have nothing better to do then harm a kitty. I hope he is on a road to a speedy recovery! I'm sure you're looking forward to many cuddles and kisses from him!
