It has been weeks since I've done a tablescape.
I am so excited to join Kathleen this week for Let's Dish!
These little dessert plates inspired this table.
I found these at Kohl's and waited until they were marked down to get them.
A simple table for a winters eve
A large white charger, black plate and dessert plate. I love this simple palette!
These snowflake glasses were markdowns from Kroger a couple of years ago
Dollar Tree place mats and simple white handled flatware gives a modern edge
Several months ago I found three of these hand towels for 99 cents and knew they would make great napkins, held with a white napkin ring.
For a centerpiece I used the third towel along with
a small black lantern and bird s & p's
The birds echo the design on the small plates
I love these little plates...since JOY is my word for 2013
I just knew I had to have them!

love love love your new header which is probably your old header since I have not been by in awhile....where did you find that little Paris plate....and I love the Kohl's bird plates too...they match my guest bathroom bird theme if you ever don't want them anymore :)......
"Joy" is such a good word for inspiration all year! Those dishes are perfect for you. One of my favorite patterns came from Kohl's--dishes we use when we have a mexican type food for dinner. Your birdies are sweeties! And the table is so inviting. Linda

Hi, Linda! You were SO smart to snatch up those beautiful salad plates! For some reason they make me think of winter in Paris. Hmmmm...I have never even been to Paris, so that's EXTRA weird! :-) At any rate, it's a pretty table and those glasses...from Kroger?!?!!! The buyer there has awfully good taste! I never see anything that nice at the grocery stores around these parts!!!
Joy indeed!! You are the perfect hostess and this tablescape is another example. I just bought some clever soup bowls with a "cracker" compartment and hope to get out to the store for some ingredients for soup later. Waiting for sales is the perfect suggestion for adding to ones addiction of dishes!! XOXO

Thos Joy plates are a great find, and I love it that Joy is the word that you have for 2013. Joy can be found even amid sorrow and tragedy. Love the napkin rings, and really the whole table. Great colors together. Joni
Those little plates are adorable and add so much to your table...I am into simple this year, too! It is time to clean out the excess...I know I will like it in the end.
