Gratitude~Day 13

I am so very grateful for books!
I love reading and have since I was a very young child.  I had story books I would take to the adults and have them read to me....apparently over and over again.  If they tried to skip pages I would make them go back and read them!  Funny, I see my Grandson being the same way!!
This was last year!  I take Tiger a book each time I visit and we read it together!
I love non fiction!  I always have a book I'm reading.  I read one at a time.  I like a fun mix of mystery, suspense, chick lit, intrigue and drama!
Thrift stores have allowed me to find used books at very reasonable prices!
I always have a stack of TBR books!
It's an addiction I tell ya!
I have always been a fan of the library!
Growing up I loved checking out books.  I always took my girls to the library and they participated in summer reading programs.
I seldom read a book more then once! I also have stopped keeping most of my books once they are read.  I would not have room to store them all!
I share books with friends and family after reading them!  My best friend Terry and I always exchange books.  She has introduced me to some good authors I would not have found on my own!
I like books that make me laugh, take me to far away places, make me think and make me cry!
I can't imagine my life without books!
Do you read?

I admit to being a compulsive reader and book hoarder. I'll read just about anything from classics to Harry Potter. I'm a very trampy reader! lol I could not live without books! ~ Maureen

I consider myself a reader.....but for the past 8 or 9 years I have had to keep a list of what I have read because I tend to forget all but the last few.

Like you, Linda, I am an avid reader. I would be lost without books and magazines.

I think we are sisters in some other life ... haha, I read constantly! I haven't bought books in a few years now, the library has so many, plus they'll order nearly anything you want. Yes, reading is where it's at (unfortunately neither of my kids cares about reading :(

I absolutely agree with you about books and passed that along to my girls and grands. I've learned so much from books and can't imagine who'd I be without them...and it's nice we are sisters, XOXO

I love to read too. I used to volunteer with the library, taking books to shut-ins, because I couldn't imagine not being able to get to books. I love smell and feel of books. No Nook for me! I have read some books that I cried when I was done reading them because I didn't want them to be over. I don't keep books when I'm done, I pass them along for someone else to enjoy :-) Great picture of you and Tiger :-) Thanks for sharing this at the party this week too! I love it :-)

OMG, Linda. I am obsessed when it comes to reading. I have hundreds and hundreds of books. To say goodbye to one is like cutting off an arm. I have, however, on rare occasion, weeded out our home library shelves. Of course, it's only to make room for replacements.

I also love decorating magazines, primarily, but also love most of the women's magazines. My fave of all faves is Victoria.

Used book sales draw me to them like gargantuan magnets and I'm the little nail! ha ha ha

Take care and keep reading to that little Tiger. What a lucky little guy. Susan

I remember the first time Mom took me to the library - I thought it was just the best - I read the books in record time and was ready to go back for more!! I've always loved to read, my daughter loves it too, my son - not at all!!

I can't imagine not having a book on the go - I agree, second hand books are the best deal....

I love to read and I love books! Good old fashioned books too...I don't want a reader, I want an actual book in my hands.

I love, love, love reading. I would go into mourning if there wasn't a library. I can be found there at least several times a week stocking up on books for my mom and me (she loves to read, too)

I really wish I could make more time to read like I used to. There's just nothing like getting lost in a good book. When my boys were young we practically lived at the library, used books were 25 cents.

What a wonderful thing to do Linda. I think it is wonderful that you are seeing the same trait in Tiger. I wish we as a family had more of a passion to read.

I LOVE reading! All my kids are readers too! I just found several books for our grand Jayden today! I even found a CHildren's Bible designed for lil hands and it is one of those wipe clean books! The stories are so simply written. I know he will love it!
