Gratitude-Day 23

I am very grateful for thrift shopping!
I am on a very limited income and so I shop
thrift stores, yard sales and online bargains!
I buy a lot of books for Tiger and find them in thrift stores and yard sales for under .50 ea all the time!
I try to take a new book to him each time I visit and the only way I can afford that is to thrift the books.  I find so many that look like new!
Tiger loves them and so does my daughter!
We buy clothes like this warm fleece shirt
and toys like this little ride on toy also at the thrift shop!
Bargains are there for the taking!
I find fun seasonal items all the time.  It's the only way I can decorate my home like I love too!
I also finds dishes at wonderful prices.  These were all bought on 1/2 price day and I paid less then $3 for all of this!

My family and friends know I also buy Christmas gifts at the thrifts and I've been buying some the last few months!  I can't share those with you yet!

So today I am very grateful that I have found a way to stretch my income and buy items for friends, family and myself I otherwise couldn't!

Hugs,
Linda

We share a thankfulness for thrift stores! I, too, gravitate toward the books & seldom go away w/o at least one for the grandchildren. Most everything in our home & closets is a thrift-store purchase.

When my boys were young, that's where I bought most of their books too and they were always in great shape. You know I love a good thrift store bargain!!

I love finding bargains at the thrift store, too and buy lots of books. We give books to our grandkids...that the main gift we give. Wish we were close to each other...wouldn't we have fun?! Hugs!

Linda you are an inspiration - we can all take a tip or two from you. With two grandchildren and two more on the way (yes, twins!) I will try to squeeze a dollar even more now!

It sounds like you find some great things at the thrift stores, Linda. I found a pair of Gap jeans, in my size, there about a month ago. They are very expensive and I'd never buy them new for that money. Perfect condition, perfect fit, perfect price - $3.99. Couldn't beat that! I love finding things there even if I wind up making them over.

There is so much waste in our society today, it makes absolute sense to reuse things that in perfectly good condition. Books, toys and children's clothing don't get worn out that much. Not only are you saving money by thrifting, but it's helping the environment. It's win win!

(Love Tiger's big brown eyes!)

Hi Linda! I love thrift store shopping too! I found Lee Rider dress pants for $2.50 in perfect condition for me! I also buy the grand Jayden books and today I hit the motherload! I found a pop up Santa book in perfect condition. $1! Goodwill had everything on sale and I found 4 books for him for $2! I am going to do a little crafting too. I think hand made gifts are the best ones and thrift store gifts warm my heart! I agree with Susan! You are awesome for sharing tips on thrifting and I learned so much from you! Hugs Anne
