I do love to go thrifting and while I'm traveling is no exception! I shared my stop at Sherry's wonderful booth in the Antique Mall, but of course I've done a bit of shopping while here in Texas as well!
First let me say the prices in the thrift stores have just gone out of sight! Not kidding!! I have been in about 6 thrifts since being here and only bought a couple of things.....mostly books!
These all look good and I'm already into "A Summer Affair" by Elin Hilderbrand
I did find this little blue and white owl for $1 and I really like that it's a bank....
cute huh?
So that's it for my thrifting finds here in Texas!
Pretty slim pickins as they say!
Joining Diann for Thrifty Things Friday!
Hugs,
Linda

I agree about prices at thrift stores - however, we DID find some good stuff on our vacation last week!
(I got some books, too.)
Hey, that owl is great - at many levels. Banks, blue & white, price, etc.

yeah, I really only have one thrift store that I can still find deals at, and I often do, but the others are just getting ridiculous. So glad garage sales are starting up!
Love that owl:)
I would love to borrow them from you when your done reading them! They looked good. sandie
Owls are really making a come back. I remember as a child when owls were scattered around people's homes...much cuter the second time around. Great thrift. Tiffany
i love getting things when out traveling. when I see them in my home years later it reminds me of the trip!
Hi Linda! That's a cute little owl! I like to explore and thrift while traveling too! I'm so glad you liked my 'steal'.
Be a sweetie,
shelia ;)
Hi Linda....Know what you mean about some thrift store prices. Oh boy. Others are still pretty good. Glad you got some books and the little owl. Susan
That owl is so sweet!
Who knows, maybe with a little more time, you'll hit the thrifting jackpot. Good luck!
Love Dorothea Benton Frank, you'll enjoy her. Agree about the thrifts, I stopped going to one of our local thrifts whose prices were crazy.
I so agree about the increase in prices. You really have to watch for a good deal. But the bird is very nice a double collectible, bank and bird.
Ditto for me, too. Thrifting isn't as "thrifty" as it was:) Love the sweet little owl. I can't believe there was a day I didn't like owls...they're so cute!
Good Evening Linda Sweetie...
What a wonderful share this evening. I love your little owl, that is so darn cute. It almost looks delf.
I see you picked up a Sandra Brown book. Love her writes. Can't wait to hear about that book, I haven't read that one.
Yes prices have been out the roof. I don't know if it because so many of us are now visiting, or are some really paying those prices? A little bit for my budget, but I do get some wonderful ideas there.
Have a beautiful weekend sweetie. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
Yep, I can see prices rising in thrift stores, too.
Cute little owl...:)
Oooo I love that little owl ~ so cute! And look at all those wonderful books ~ so many adventures you are going to have. ;)

One more reason there's no place like home. :@

So glad your thrifting was a success. How fun is a trip and good finds. Thanks for sharing and for stopping by.
Linda, I see you found a book on Pawleys Island. That is in my neck of the woods.!!
Love the Little Owl!
Such a cute owl! The prices oif charity shopping here have gone through the roof too. Scarlett x
It would be no fun if you couldn't still hit the thrift stores while on vacation!
Ah Linda, I thought you would find so much more good stuff. Darn.
I know what you mean about the prices going up. Now that thrifting is "chic and hip" the stores are slowly increasing their costs. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of thrifts!
hugs
Sissie
It's funny how you can have great luck one day and find nothing at all on another.
The prices are through the roof here too. I love that little owl. ~Ames
Yup, I couldn't agree more regardig the thrift store prices! I am so glad that yard sales will be starting up soon. Well, they have already started but,I have been to busy to check them out. Books are always a great thing to pick up. I read the Sandra Brown one you got. It's a good book! Thank you for sharing with us at TTF. Have a great day!
I think thrift stores have forgotten the meaning of thrift :)
Our thrift store prices are crazy too; at least you found the sweet owl. Keep hunting!
Linda that is the cutest owl ever. Glad you found him and had fun thrifting on the road.
Love that blue and white owl, Linda! Catching up...too much Little League! I enjoyed the peek into Sherry's shop and know who is gonna enjoy that cute baby dish...little Mister Tiger! lol Sounds like you had a fun trip! Welcome home! Spring went away while you were gone!...hugs...Debbie
The owl is adorable, Linda! I find that same thing...it seems like there is less variety and it's more expensive. Or maybe we're just running out of stuff to buy. Nah, never mind. That's not possible.
Slim pickin's here too. I only found two little china dishes..rectangle shaped. I'll have to post them..sweet but a dollar each. Folks are on to the fact that it's become a popular way for people to get things..and have perhaps jacked up their prices? Just kidding. I have no idea..but I don't, or rarely go to the thrift stores anymore. My thing is the garage/yard/tag sales.
Cute little owl..and I DO love that it is a bank. All my books are from Garage sales and I have never paid more than a dollar..but usually 25 cents each. My library is growing, growing...sheesh..I think it's grown! :)
Hugs,
Mona
What I like about thrifting, is that no matter where you go, you can always find something!!!
Looks like your bookshelf will have great summer reading!
Yvonne
Linda,
I am seeing the increase in prices too:( Hope you have a great time on your trip.
Blessings,
Linda
I love your books and that sweet owl! So precious!
Hi Linda! You always find the neatest stores to shop in! Seeing the books reminded me that every time I see old Nancy Drew books, I check to see if my name is written inside, in my grade school handwriting! So far, I haven't found any! So many of my things were given away or misplaced during various moves. :(
