Waechtersbach Designs

I love coffee mugs.  I like to use a new one each day that expresses my mood.  Flowers, cats, fancy, plain.  I also love seasonal mugs.
I have all these hearts!
All of these have been found at thrift shops and yard sales.  All were under $1
Most of these are marked Waechtersbach W. Germany
The color is wonderful.
Waechtersbach  (Vek ters bahk)
has been producing quality earthenware since 1832 in Waechtersbach, Germany.  I also have pieces marked Spain and USA
The designs are always fun on these mugs
The Panda in the center was a really cute find!
The Shamrock mug will be used soon.  I love the piano keys mug.  The little blue mug looks like something for a child.
I gave this one to Ashleigh and I use it when I visit Cali!

Some of these might be 'vintage' while others are not new and the patterns are still being made
I found this USA website selling mugs with some of the designs I have in my collection

This has been a fun and inexpensive collection that just sort of happened.  Do you have collections like that?
I'm joining Sue at It's A Very Cherry World for
Rednesday

Hugs,
Linda

Great mug collection. I tend to stick with one favorite mug until I spot one while out and about that catches my eye. Then I use my new favorite :)

I've collected so many things over the years - stamps postcards and matchbooks when I was young. A few years ago I was collecting candle snufflers, Napco figurines with hair, now I'm onto Pyrex and see no let up on that one!

I am amazed how much you and I must think alike. Our little white pitcher collection, now a coffee cup collection. In fact, I have a post in draft about my different cups. How funny. Mine aren't nearly as nice as yours....just plain little thrifted cups that I like a lot. :)

I also have an Ashleigh.....:)))

What a great collection you have! I've never seen the shamrock one before, how fun to have that for St. Pat's.

Happy Rednesday!

Really? You use a mug for every mood??? WOW I've never heard of that, but hey, if you have that many why not? There's a lot of red ones there... to me that's angry, I'd be using one of those lately. Randy and I were suppose to go somewhere nice and HOT, but we couldn't find one of those famous "last minute deals" they all told us about...so here we are on Colt's reading week, home, yes home. I'm getting out of here today. I'm going thrift shopping. I need some new threads. I'm seriously thinking of going to Vancouver for my birthday next month. Just need to figure out the dates.
Sorry I haven't been around... but I'm back...
Sending you love my friend

I wish I had a place to display all these mugs. So cute Linda. My favorites are the Shamrock and the piano key mugs.

Nope, no mug collection. I like yours though! Too bad I didn't know you when I retired. I had a box of 50 mugs to give away. But they all said #1 teacher or something like that! I actually just left them in the Faculty room for the new teacher's to use, until their own collections would start!
A different mug everyday? Where do you keep 365 mugs?

Those are all so cute! I think all of my collections "just happened". I have never said, "I'm going to collect that". I just get something and more of them seem to call my name, and before I know it, I have a collection. I love that piano mug. laurie

What a fun collection of mugs! It would be really fun to open the cupboard and say, "What mood am I in today and which mug suits that mood?" Love it!

Hi Linda,

I have a cupboard full of mugs, too. We have more mugs than glasses and we're a big water drinking family so the mugs don't get used for tea or coffee too often. ;-)

I really like the little blue elephant mug. It's super sweet.

Hugs to you,
Susan
