FIRE-KING FOR VINTAGE THINGY THURSDAY

Last month my friend Sherry at Back2 Vintage did a post called Sapphire Blue.  As I'm reading her post, I think to myself...I have some pieces of that I think.  I took photos and emailed them to Sherry and she said...yes I do have 3 pieces of Sapphire Blue Fire-King!
As you can see it is clear glass with a blue tint to it.
Sherry said this piece would have had a lid...something to keep an eye out for while thrifting
This is a measuring bowl and one of my favorite pieces.
I love the shape and the handles

I found this pie plate a few months ago
I love this pattern called 'Philbe'

All of these pieces were under $1 each

Thank you so much Sherry.
I hope you check out her post as she is very knowledgeable about so many antiques and collectibles
I have learned a lot from her!

The Blog world is a fabulous place to learn, isn't it? I'm always astounded by the things people teach in their posts. These dishes are very pretty...but so is everything you have!! :)

Thanks for the shout-out, Linda!!! I'm so proud that you discovered some Sapphire Blue in your vast collection of glassware. I'm envious of the measuring bowl and the price you paid is unbelieveable! I found a SB pie plate just yesterday and I had to pay $2! You are the Thrift Queen!!!

How many times have I seen that bluish tinted glass ware and thought it must be depression glass? Can't count. Now that I know it's Fire King (thanks to you and Sherry) will give it a second look.

How pretty that is, Linda. I don't think I've ever seen that pattern. Love the sapphire blue hint. You take care now, ya hear? :D

I love the pattern, I would have picked these up also, especially for the price! Oh, and the blue is so coastal!

I've been going to some garage sales in my new neighborhood and the prices are GREAT! Most of them seem to be folks who are just clearing stuff out, not generating a needed income. Works out great for me and others!

These are so light and pretty; love the subtle color. I found a lid at a yard sale recently thinking it might be sapphire blue, but it was too dark.

I love the scroll pattern on the bottom of the bowl. It is so pretty! I could see it stenciled on a ceiling or something! Thanks for sharing!

Very pretty! Yesterday I was looking at some sapphire blue Fire King and today I saw a "roaster" like yours on ebay. It had the lid as well as a trivet and is selling for almost $60!

such a pretty color and pattern... i'd never even heard of Fireking. Wonder if there's any way to use the plate as a stamp and then clean it up again?
