B IS FOR BIRDS

Please join me as I participate in two blog parties today.  A new blog party Alphabe-Thursday with Jenny Matlock.  I am also joining in with Vintage Thingie Thursday with Suzanne  @ Coloradolady. Please check out both of these ladies and see what others are sharing for these two parties.
This week we are on the letter  B
So this week B is for Birds........

Have you ever found yourself with a collection you didn't know you had???  That's what has happened with me and these little birds.
It all started with this little guy.  I got him from my Bio-Dad's house after he passed away.  It just spoke to me.

It is made by Goebel and I love the glazes on it

I remembered I had these salt & pepper shakers a good friend had given me for my birthday....they look a little angry don't they

This cute little bell with a bird on top came home with me one day

Soon Joined by more birds

and MORE birds..........it's an invasion!
NO, It's a collection!

These two are my current favorites.  I love the color and they are tiny and just too cute!  I got them in a 'junk' bag yesterday for 50 cents along with..

This cute little guy who is marked JAPAN

This one is a candle holder

You've seen these guys before and now they are my new header

 An all white bird

So yes I would say I have a collection, and this does not include all the cardinals I have that I use around Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by..Do you have a collection you didn't know you had?  I would love to hear what it is!

Linda

I love all of your birds, especially the chubby little blue ones in your header. And I've got those same tiny aqua-colored S&P shakers. I bought them in a little shop in Savannah. How neat that you found some.

Love your birds. Especially love the little set you have on your banner!I also have a collection of birds but they are not old they are newer and I just put them away in a box until I get ready to paint and talk hubby into new shelves in my bathroom. I decided to walk around my house and gather them all up the other day. I am going to link up with Alphabe-Thursday also. But I am not useing my birds.

I love birds! and rabbits and foxes and elephants.... I guess I like a lot of things. But I always pick up discarded birds nests and eggs shells- compulsively.

Hi Linda,
When you start collecting birds, it's hard to stop. I know because I used to collect them and finally had to stop. Of course, now I collect other things, so on it goes!

Great post. I love all the little peeps.

Birds are the best! Inside, outside, porcelain, pottery, carved, alive, plastic...you can't have too many! I somehow wound up with a collection, too. I'll keep adding to it, too!

I just love, love, love, love your bird collection! I have birds throughout my house but mostly in my kitchen. I don't have any sweet vintage ones like you have though.

Hi Linda! I'm always drawn to bird figurines. Guess that's how I ended up with my collection! I love all of your birdies, but especially that one that started it all. It looks like a little chickadee to me. Love your new header too!
Happy VTT!

Hi Linda! Thanks for stopping by. That made me feel sooooo good. I love birds, too. They make me think of spring. But I don't have that many. I think the precious munchkins on your header are so adorable. But I really like the ones that have an attitude. Those are so cute! Have a lovely rest of the evening. Rosie

That is how it starts..with one little bird... and then it all begins to grow and you need a bigger space an a bigger room and then a bigger house or in this case a bigger nest!

That's a lot of birds!

I like the Bluebirds of Happiness that you have as your header pic.

And I agree those two definitely look like grumpy birds. They probably slept in, so thet didn't get the worm.

I love it when someone discovers they had a collection and didn't know it. That happened to me a few years ago at Christmas when I looked around at my decorations and found out I had mostly snowmen things LOL.
Who knew? I love all the birds.

I had no idea that salt and pepper shakers could look so angry, but you've shown me otherwise! I love the first little guy, too - I can totally see how he spoke to you.

As for books, I know that over time I will need to pare down my collection out of neccessity. And you're right about quality over quantity, I was surprised how many blah books I easily passed over!

You have a great collection of birds! And yes I seem to have quite a few collections that I didn't really realize I had...it just kind of happened!
Glad you joined VTT

Your birds are just delightful. It's funny how we get into our collections. At 65, I'm beginning to downsize but I do have my collections - strawberries, mushrooms, daisies, unicorns, and elephants!! Strawberries are, by far, my largest - bedroom and bath, filled with crewel, needlework, decoupage, porcelain, pottery, etc.
